WELCOME!

I'm Gail. The globe-spinning, love to pack but hate to unpack constant traveler and Travel Advisor who started Border To Border.  And that guy on the logo? That's Tim, my Capybara In Chief.

Like all good capybaras, Tim is sociable. He's easy going. He's curious. He doesn't like to stay in the same place too long. And, he's a great navigator. No wonder I had to have him on my team!

About me? Well, I've had many varied careers. Advertising creative. Film script supervisor. Advocate for the disabled and elderly. Nursing home abuse, neglect and exploitation investigator. Maybe even your waitress, once upon a time (sorry if you're still waiting). What do all these things have in common? Nothing! Except that no matter what I was doing, I was still traveling, and helping friends with their own travel plans. When enough people suggested I start booking travel professionally, I thought about it for a bunch of years. Finally, I agreed.

Here's the part where I hear you asking, "But what exactly is a travel advisor anyway, and why would I want one?" Great questions!

Best answer found here:

Simply put, partnering with top, worldwide suppliers in the travel industry, I have the knowledge and contacts needed to help you decide the right locations, lodging, transportation and tours that match your travel style. Plus, not only can I negotiate the best price for you, I frequently receive discounts and perks directly from suppliers that you can't find on your own. Advising. Planning. Booking. Support.

Is making discoveries at your own pace and according to your own interests how you like to see the world? Great! I'm your person! I've been creating my own itineraries for years. Now, I'm here to help you create yours.

Not sure? Just a few suggestions:

  • A sunny beach with access to great snorkeling
  • Volunteering at an elephant or sloth sanctuary
  • Exploring national parks during the day, then returning to a luxury resort and spa for a deep tissue massage
  • Safely camping (or glamping!) near wildlife
  • An Ayurvedic wellness retreat in  remote hills surrounded by nature
  • A gentle river cruise through history, visiting castles and walking timeless cobblestone streets
  • Diving into the pristine blue waters of cenotes
  • Kayaking through the untouched beauty of an isolated sea cave

A few of our favorite experiences

  • Staying at Casa Particulars with various families in Cuba, quickly becoming friends with the locals and of course our hosts.
  • Trekking through the Amazon jungle in Brazil with a guide and a botanist. Yes, there were evil looking bugs in every direction, and thankfully, most of them were very polite.
  • In Thailand, standing knee deep in a river bathing orphaned elephants, learning each elephant's history prior to being rescued.
  • Spotting wild jaguars in The Pantanal with zoologists, there to study the behavior and dwindling environment of these magnificent cats.
  • Driving around Iceland, stopping the vehicle every 10 minutes just to gawk at the ever changing and other worldly scenery. Nothing else is like that country.
  • Staying 7 nights in a rustic tent at a game reserve in Botswana. It's here that we learned to love 2 minute bucket showers. And waking each morning to identify which animal made the closest tracks to our camp.
  • Staying on an open-air klotok in Borneo, gently drifting down narrow, forest-lined waters, hearing the long call of distant orangutans. That alone would've been enough. When they appeared... no words.

Okay, but who made that logo?

All 'round swell guy Tim Souers. Artist extraordinaire. Think I'm kidding? Check out his website. The guy's brilliant.
